Charles A. Nader, born in West Point, Georgia decided to take a vacation to Los Angeles in 1947. He never ended up moving back. After many waiter jobs in California, he started working at Sear's as a vacuum sales person. Charles was always one who strived for perfection and shortly after he started at Sear's, the furniture sales manager noticed him and recruited him to work in the furniture department where he became the number one salesperson in the country. Deep down, Mr. Nader had a dream of starting his personal chain of furniture stores in the Los Angeles Area and on August 11, 1956 his dream had begun. At 34 years old, Charles opened his first store in Gardena, California. Soon more stores were to follow until he had a chain of 8 furniture stores. Running 8 stores would be a tough task to handle by himself so when they were old enough to work, he employed his sons, Chuck Jr. and Mike Nader. Shortly to follow in helping with the business were the rest of his children Pam, Fred, George, Cindy, Paul, and Kathy. A true Family business with the main boss, his wife Peggy, holding the family together. Not all locations were successful during hard times so a few locations eventually had to close down to make the business stronger and the family stuck together to keep Nader's Furniture going strong. Charles Nader Sr. has since passed away and left a legacy for his sons who are still to this day running the family business. Chuck Nader Sr strongly believed in family values and that has been passed down through two more generations of his 8 children and 28 grandchildren. Five of his Sons and Four of his Grandsons are involved in the business today.

Chuck Nader Sr. not only believed in running a family business but was also a proud supporter of the community through many different programs. This was a value that he preached to his children and today Nader's is a major contributor to Cancer research through the City of Hope every year. Nader's Furniture also supports many community groups in the City of Gardena as well as sponsoring underprivileged youth groups through Chivas USA soccer club in Carson.
